The Bold, The Young, and the Murdered

The Bold, The Young, and the Murdered

Bankstown Theatre Company are bringing this high camp, hysterical murder mystery to its audiences as it ticks all the boxes for fans of soap operas, murder mysteries and comedy.

Written by Don Zolidis, The Bold, the Young and the Murdered is a comedy/mystery that pokes fun at soap operas and the actors who appear on them. It’s also both a murder mystery with an ending that will surprise even the best mystery sleuths, and a play within a play as the actors interact with one another on and off camera.

In a nutshell, the long running soap opera The Bold and the Young is in its last days: its hunky hero has self-esteem issues, its villainous old man is more interested in soup, and its heroines are slightly psychopathic. The executive producer gives the squabbling cast an ultimatum: complete one episode overnight or the show dies. But when the director ends up murdered, and other cast members start dropping like flies, it seems like his threat might actually come true.

Can these misfits discover the murderer before the show is literally killed off?

With some of BTC’s favourite actors, including Diane Wilson, Simon Fry and Edward Rooke, this show is an hilarious romp that promises a good belly laugh.
