The Wonder Behind Wicked

The eyes of community theatres around Australia were on CLOC Musical Theatre for its Australian Non-Professional Premiere of Wicked. The set and costumes will be used by ten companies all over the country, then exported to New Zealand. CLOC’s technical wizard Grant Alley, and Andrew Davis share their thoughts.

Introducing Young Dr Frankenstein

Lachlan O'Brien plays the titular role of Dr. Frederick Frankenstein Miranda Musical Society’s production of Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein, playing at Sutherland Entertainment Centre from September 21 to 25.

What is Young Frankenstein?

Thematically? It is a raucous, zany, high camp, sexed up, jazzed up, hilarious fiesta of Mel Brooks humour. With traditional toe tapping songs and more one-liners than you can poke a shtick at.

Boeing Boeing Flies in to Castle Hill

They say if you remember the 60s you weren’t there! Castle Hill Players’ next production, Boeing Boeing, promises to deliver a night of laughs and entertainment as this French farce, set in 1960s Paris hits the Pavilion Theatre stage from Friday 23 September until Saturday 15 October.

Halloween Comes Early to Strathfield

Young Frankenstein’s Musical Monster Set Loose On Shire

Miranda Musical Society (NSW) decided it was time to bring a show to their audiences that puts the word “comedy” firmly into “musical comedy”,  with their September 2016 show Young Frankenstein, adapted as a stage musical by Mel Brooks from his legendarily funny film. 

In a nutshell, Grandson of the infamous Victor Frankenstein, Frederick Frankenstein (pronounced "Fronk-en-steen") inherits his family's estate in Transylvania.

Skylight at Limelight
