The Phantom of the Opera: Sydney Amateur Premiere for Miranda

The Phantom of the Opera: Sydney Amateur Premiere for Miranda

Far beneath the majesty and splendour of the Paris Opera House (alias Sutherland Entertainment Centre), hides the Phantom in a shadowy existence. Shamed by his physical appearance and feared by all, the love he holds for his beautiful protégée Christine Daaé is so strong that she cannot resist.

His obsession with his ‘angel of music’ unleashes a diabolical tale of drama, destruction and death – and a unique musical theatrical experience.

Miranda Musical Society is proud and excited to announce the Sydney amateur premiere of this legendary and record-breaking operatic extravaganza which features such hits as “Think of Me”, “Angel of Music”, “Music of the Night”, “All I Ask of You”, “Masquerade” and “The Phantom of the Opera”.

Colin Peet directs Gavin Leahy in the title role with Tamasin Howard as Christine (pictured together above) alternating with Rebecca Carter, Jack Dawson as Raoul, Sarah Furnari as Meg Giry, Chiz Watson as Madame Giry and April Neho as Carlotta. Plus a huge ensemble cast, chorus and 27-piece orchestra under the baton of musical director Andy Peterson. Choreography is by Joanne Ansell with assistant director Garth Saville.
