Revenge, Pies & Murder at Holroyd

Revenge, Pies & Murder at Holroyd

Expect revenge, murder and plenty of meat pies in Holroyd Musical and Dramatic Society’s production of Sweeney Todd, The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.

Jordan Vassallo directs one of Stephen Sondheim’s most popular musicals opening on Friday 15th May, 2015 at the Red Gum Centre in Wentworthville.

Sweeney Todd is a handsome skilled barber who returns from a 15 year exile to seek revenge on the man who ruined his life and kept him away from his wife and daughter. When revenge eludes him, Sweeney Todd’s appetite for murder grows and with the support of Mrs Lovett, a neighbour and pie maker, together they form a hilariously wicked team.

“The comic timing of Mrs Lovett against the severity of Sweeney Todd lends itself to great on stage chemistry,” said Vassallo. “The black humour along with stunning side terror and a sensational musical score with our wonderful 16 piece orchestra makes this show one not to be missed.”
