Manly Musical Society’s 10th production will be comedy horror rock musical Little Shop of Horrors, by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, based on the 1960 black comedy film.

Little Shop of Horrors tells the story of hapless, nerdish florist Seymour, who harbors a crush on co-worker, the ditzy blonde and ever-vulnerable Audrey.

Epicentre Theatre Company (NSW) follows the success of its October production of Calendar Girls (which raised over $4000 for Leukemia research) with a powerful modern Australian classic Blackrock, which shines a light on a dark episode of our recent past, this time raising funds to combat violence.

Student theatre society Backstage UTS (NSW) is staging Ian Wilding’s Australian play Quack from November 15 to 23, 2013. The Griffin Theatre Company recently commissioned Quack after Ian Wilding won the Patrick White Playwrights’ Award in 2009. Only the play’s second Australian production, is being produced by Backstage in association with the student union of the University of Technology Sydney.
