Bushfire Postponement for CAT Awards

Bushfire Postponement for CAT Awards

The 25th annual CAT Awards has been postponed due to the bushfire crisis.

Organiser and founder Coralie Wood said "many theatre companies involved in the Awards operate along the coast of NSW and in the Southern Highlands and alpine region around Canberra. We have watched in sadness as our area burns."

"As the current bushfire crisis affecting so much of our region, it has been decided to postpone the 25th Annual CAT Awards gala presentation until 6 pm on Saturday 18 April 2020 at the ANU’s Llewellyn Hall in Canberra," she said.

"As much as theatre provides a great escape and much-needed break from the devastating losses of recent weeks for anyone affected by the fires, we felt it would be proper to postpone the Awards to give those from bushfire affected areas some time to start to get their lives back in order."

"Saturday 18 April is in the middle of the NSW school holidays, on the weekend between Easter and Anzac Day. And we hope as many people as possible will be able to attend in April to support those from bushfire affected communities."

"If you have already purchased tickets, they are of course transferrable to the new date.  We will do this as a matter of course, but please let us know if the new date is unsuitable and we will arrange to refund you."

"We will shortly be in contact with those companies and individuals who had been asked to perform on the night to confirm if our new date works for them."

"As usual, the quickest and easiest way to book tickets is through me on 0418 249 658, or by emailing Coralie on cfw@ozemail.com.au "

"We are thinking of you – and hoping you are safe."
