Richmond Sings 60 years of Magical Musicals

In 60 Years of Magical Musicals, Richmond Players (NSW) promise their selection from musicals will keep your toes tapping whilst you sing along in the party atmosphere during November 2013.

This little story, provided by the company, based on the song titles, provides an appetizer for this evening of Theatre Restaurant.

Some enchanted evening I meet Maria on the street where she lived. I whistled a happy tune and said wouldn’t it be lovely getting to know you - you’re such a honey bun! She had a laugh, thinking this was a just a comedy tonight. She told me that I’d do anything except pick a pocket or two to have a date on the banks of the Condamine with lots of food glorious food. We had to climb every mountain to get there but she can’t say no to me. Oh’ Billy Boy, did you hear me?’ She said. ‘The edelweiss here is growing wild. It’s you know, oh what a beautiful morning in the mountains.’ Maria, thought maybe this is someone else’s story, as long as he needs me I seem to know him so well now. She reflected how once she was a convict maid and now flash bang wallop, she’s with Billy. He was thinking there is nothing like a dame to spend time with. I don’t want to say goodbye to her when I leave for Oklahoma for my show business. Doh, Ray and me have to work like a soviet machine to get the work done.
