Motherhood The Musical

Motherhood The Musical

Motherhood The Musical: The good, the bad and the laundry plays a Sydney season at the Seymour Centre from July 26 to August 13, following its Melbourne season earlier this year.

From the Australian producer of Menopause The Musical®, Motherhood The Musical: The good, the bad and the laundry, is a new musical journey about the lives and friendships of four very different mums sharing their insights into the challenges of motherhood. There's Barb, the over-worked, underpaid, stressed-out mother of five, Brooke a lawyer, who works too much and barely sees her kids, Trisha a single mum who's struggling to balance work, her family and her divorce and finally Amy, the naïve young woman about to have her first child.

Having received rave reviews in the USA in 2010 and recently during its Australian Premiere in Melbourne in February 2011, Motherhood The Musical is written by award-winning singer/songwriter Sue Fabisch, and features 20 sensational songs including her Top 10 Billboard Comedy Hit “The Kids Are Finally Asleep”. This joyous musical takes a funny look at the blessings and the perils of being a Mum. This is all about laughing and crying, craziness and calm, smiles and tears, all wrapped up into 90 minutes of musical entertainment. For everyone who is, has, or knows a Mum.

Produced by Christine Harris and HIT Productions (David Williamson’s The Club, Menopause The Musical® Australia) in association with GFour Productions, the show is directed by Terence O’Connell and features Amelia Christo, Ziggy Clements, Jacqueline Hoy and Rebecca Moore.

“Motherhood is a slick, polished work that embraces genuine sentiment without becoming manipulatively sentimental. It disguises itself as nothing more than an entertaining evening of chuckles and tears. But without overreaching, Fabisch plugs into the universality of human experience.” Bill Hirschman, New York Variety Magazine, USA, October 2010.
