Rob Mills for The Last Five Years in Sydney

The Last Five Years, an intimate contemporary musical byTony Award-winning writer and composer Jason Robert Brown, will have a Sydney season this July at The Reginald Theatre (previously know as the Downstairs Theatre) at the Seymour Centre.

The Last Five Yearsis the story of the rise and fall of a young couple’s relationship told from both sides. Her story starts at the end of their relationship while his begins on the day they met.

The Last Five Years stars Rob Mills, fresh from his stand-out performance in the Australian production of Wicked, and award-winning cabaret star Marika Aubrey, following her sell-out performances of Redhead in New York City and at The Adelaide Cabaret Festival.

Produced by independent theatre company Stories Like These, The Last Five Yearsis directed by Luke Rogers, with musical director Mark Chamberlain.

To quote the media release, “This raw, enchanting and bittersweet production captures some of the most heartbreaking and uplifting moments of modern romance. A poignant look at a modern relationship from the thrill of infatuation and the blossoming of a new love, through to the end. The Last Five Years will appeal to anyone who has ever been, or ever hopes to be, in love.”
