Awgie Award winning playwright Stephen House wrote Almost Face To Face during an Australia Council Irish literature residency, which he says was one of the highlights of his creative life. While not his nominated project for the residency, House says he fell into a Dublin world he found fascinating, so dug in deeper, and then as he often does… wrote about it.

Six The Musical’s Queens Crowned

The Australian producers of the West End hit musical SIX have announced the Australian Queens set to join SIX as it embarks on its Australian tour. The tour will premiere at the Sydney Opera House on January 4 before moving to Melbourne’s Comedy Theatre from April 23 and Adelaide’s Her Majesty’s Theatre from June 11 as part of the Adelaide Cabaret Festival. The Sydney season is presented by the Sydney Opera House.

Lead Cast Annnounced for 9 to 5

Caroline O’Connor, Marina Prior, Samantha Dodemaide and Erin Clare have been cast in the lead roles in Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5 The Musical, which will have its Australian Premiere at the Sydney Lyric Theatre in April 2020.

Bran Nue Dae 30th Anniversary Cast Announced

Legendary Australian actor and TV presenter Ernie Dingo will reprise the role of Uncle Tadpole he first performed 30 years ago when the hit musical Bran Nue Dae, written by Jimmy Chi in collaboration with the band Kuckles, embarks on its 30th Anniversary tour in 2020.

Recognised as a National Living Treasure, Dingo has had an accomplished acting career spanning more than four decades. He first performed the role of the wily Uncle Tadpole in the original 1990 tour of Bran Nue Dae and again in the 2009 film adaptation of the musical.

Shrek: Full Adult Cast Announced

Producer John Frost has announced the full adult cast of SHREK THE MUSICAL, which opens in Australia next year. SHREK THE MUSICAL will play at the Sydney Lyric Theatre, The Star from 1 January 2020, followed by seasons at Her Majesty’s Theatre, Melbourne from 16 February and at the Lyric Theatre, Brisbane from 9 May.
