Bell, Book and Candle
A coven of Witches have invaded Tugun Community Centre for Tugun Theatre Company’s production of Bell, Book and Candle!
First time director, Petz Shulz, has assembled a great cast (including the mandatory black cat named Pyewacket) in staging this Spellbinding story.
Naomi Mole plays Gillian, the leader of the coven who, together with her Aunt Queenie Julie Burnett and Andrea Murray as her sister Nicky, join forces to meddle in the life of Publisher: Neil McRudden – Shepherd Henderson with the aim of arranging a relationship between him and his landlady Gillian!
Under the watchful gaze of Pyewacket, the witches take great pleasure in controlling the situation, with the result being Shephard falling for Gillian.
Sydney Redlitch - Jenna Evelyn Baker, an aspiring “expert” on the subject of Witchcraft, is lured to the coven on the pretext of having Shepherd publish her work.
‘Ever the stirrer’ Nicky (as an insider) conspires with Sydney to write a book revealing the workings of Witchery and thus ‘throw a spanner in the works’.
Gillian and Shep’s relationship is not plain sailing and the couple separate. Much to Nicky’s delight. Gillian appears to lose her powers when Pyewacket runs away.
Several months pass and when their paths cross again, their muddled pasts are forgotten and “they live happily ever after”.
