Club D’Amour: Encore

Club D’Amour Encore is a headliner at FringeWorld, a late-night dessert of a show that feels indulgent, sexy and naughty, but a great way to end a night at FringeWorld, or simply as an after-dinner treat. 

A sizzling combination of cirque, dance and cabaret, the show is hosted by the funny and clever drag diva Fay Rocious. Fay keeps the show moving with some great one liners and witty banter, but also improvises at expert level, meaning every show, with every audience is unique, as she works the crowd. Vocalist Christine Ibrahim is superb, a beautiful classically trained voice, singing songs that would make your grandma blush.

Lots of flesh on show, with loads of very impressive and often very brief costumes, and dance numbers choreographed by Nat Oakes, very burlesque in style help link one cirque act to the next. Fabulous cirque acts from fire performer Nat Oakes, and aerialists Matthew Pope and Melina Mall - all return performers. Wade Platell and Antonia Sassine are fabulous additions to the show, while fellow newbie Tom McKinnon’s closing act on rope, swinging out across the audience, is absolutely stunning, and a perfect closing number.

Not for everyone, as the show can be quite explicit, but this wonderfully polished show, a blend of high-end burlesque and magnificent cirque, was a funny and fabulous crowd-pleaser.
