Risque Cabaret with Jessie Gordon and Mark Turner

Risque Cabaret with Jessie Gordon and Mark Turner
By Jessie Gordon. Fringe World. The Ellington Jazz Club, Perth, WA. Jan 21-25, 2026

If you want some sizzle in your Fringe viewing, you can’t go past Risque Cabaret with Jessie Gordon and Mark Turner, playing this week at The Ellington.

The glamorous jazz duo and best of friends opened their season to an almost capacity crowd who adored this gorgeously sung, and just a little bit naughty cabaret show.

The pair look fabulous, with Jessie in lipstick red, and Mark in “FringeWorld” hot pink, as they sing through a series of nsfw songs accompanied by Mark on guitar, with snippets of saxophone from Mark and ukulele from Jesse. There was a little bit of eyebrow raising audience interaction, and the general feel was sexy and sometimes silly without being too offensive.

Highlights include “Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better”, the deliciously wicked “Pastry Song” and thirties shocker “My Girlfriend’s Pussy”. For those unfamiliar with the Ellington, there is a bus stop outside, and a window more-or less at face height - and the latter song (complete with audience reprise) attracted a line of curious and rather perplexed faces at the window.

The vocals are glorious and this pair have great rapport both with each other and the audience.

A great choice for a date night, or a night out with friends, Risque Cabaret with Jessie Gordon and Mark Turner is a joy to watch.
