Tarzan

Spotlight have commenced their 2026 season with Tarzan (based on the Disney Film).

On arrival, the audience are greeted by Apes throughout the theatre (who remove the audience’s “nits” free of charge!)

This production is full of energy and dance. The music was not familiar (but, then again, I haven’t seen the Disney movie since last century!)

A single jungle set fills the stage with plenty of vines etc. for the primates to swing in and out!

The title role of Tarzan is portrayed with plenty of gusto by Flynn Anderson, with Alannah Eyerich as his love interest, Jane.

A great supporting cast includes Dana Sandry, Jonathan Whitlow, and Perrin Gilbert, with James Mitchell as the young Tarzan.

The talented chorus bring the jungle feel on stage with great singing and intense movement.

An unseen orchestra added to the atmosphere and was pivotal in creating the sounds of the jungle.

This outstanding production is due to the combined efforts of the creative team: Director: Stuart Morgan, Musical Director: Matt Pearson and husband and wife Choreographers: Jennifer and Perrin Gilbert.

All in all, Tarzan is an interesting theatrical experience.
