Radium Girls

Corpus Christi College presented this large cast production of D. W. Gregory’s Radium Girls for a short season. A very polished and beautifully drilled production, it was well acted and very well received.

The Crucible

Willeton Senior High School’s Year 12 Production showed not only the talents of the Year 12 Drama Cohort, but the great skills of the Year 11 and 12 Hospitality Students as well as Music Students from throughout the school, in a Dinner Theatre Experience that not only entertained but satisfied the tastebuds as well.

Mazenod College’s vibrant, joyous production of School of Rock combined community spirit and the joy of performing with great performances and high production values.

Newsies

Trinity College’s Gibney Hall was transformed for their production of Newsies, not only by the installation of raked seating, allowing everyone a great view, but with Newsies decorations drawing the audience in on their way to their seats. A polished and joyful production that spilled off the stage, the audience were clearly delighted.

Perth College, equipped with its own professional standard theatre, always produces a good show, and their latest offering, the classic musical comedy Anything Goes, was well received by its audience. With high production values and a highly motivated cast, this was a show that sparkled with fun.

Drama Changes Dumped

Controversial changes to the Higher School Certificate Drama curriculum have been dumped by the NSW Education Standards Authority.

Under the proposed changes it would have been possible for students to complete the entire course without being externally assessed.

A protest campaign against the changes led by Drama NSW and high profile actors culminated in forum held at the Seymour Centre on Monday (pictured above).
