North Shore Theatre Company (NSTC) is returning home to the Zenith Theatre in Chatswood after a three year hiatus for the musical farce The Drowsy Chaperone from 6 to 15 September 2019.

A loving send-up of American musical comedy from the 1920s, The Drowsy Chaperone charts the dream-come-true moment when a die-hard theatre fan plays his favourite cast album and the characters come to life in his living room.

Arts Theatre Cronulla's third production for 2019 is The Female of the Species, a wicked adult comedy that walks the tightrope between satire and farce while exploring how the ideology of writers of the 1970’s Women’s Liberation Movement era may have affected some readers. The inspiration for the play was a true-life incident involving Germaine Greer being held at gunpoint by a young student in 2000.

The internationally awarded Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Victoria (GSOV) presents a popular light opera gem, Die Fledermaus (The Bat), in only four performances, 26-28 July, 2019, at Darebin Arts Centre, Preston.

Absent from Melbourne’s music scene for ten years, this production features GSOV’s principal singers, full chorus and orchestra, glamourous period costume, dancers whirling to Johann Strauss’ charming waltzes and director Robert Ray’s witty English adaptation of the libretto.
