Cast Recording for New Aussie Musical

Musical theatre enthusiasts adore a new discovery, and there’s a brand new Original Cast Recording primed to fill their earholes.
Double Homicide At The Manchester Manchester and Haberdashery Factory Outlet is an all-original, uproarious musical comedy from writers Owen James and Ryland Sack.
The show made its worldwide premiere in 2023, to a sold-out season of ten performances in Melbourne. Finally, two years later, the Original Cast Recording has been professionally recorded and is now available to musical devotees worldwide.
Now streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, Tidal, Deezer, and over a hundred other platforms, the album is packed with 23 all-original songs, delivering jazzy, uptempo tunes (Something’s Going On, Stitch Up, This Boomer Is Booming), belting ballads (None The Wiser, One Stitch In Time), and razor-sharp comedy with a dark edge (Hot, Tango D’Interrogation).
The show is already having a significant impact on social media, with the opening song receiving 1.3 million views on Instagram, and 1.3 million on TikTok. (@doublehomicidemusical on both platforms)
The story follows Meredith Wood, a down-on-her-luck small-business owner in Manchester, United Kingdom, and the lengths to which she will go to keep her store afloat.
Writers James & Sack say: “This show, our second original collaboration, tackles the fast fashion epidemic, and the toll it is taking on small business. We like to look at contemporary issues through a comedic lens - we hope this murderous haberdashery will make you laugh (a lot), but also drive you to ‘buy local’.”
“The show was developed in our loungerooms over four years, had a wonderful sold-out season in 2023, and now is ready to be launched into the world with our Original Cast Recording. If you adore many of the same shows we do - Little Shop Of Horrors, The Drowsy Chaperone, Urinetown - this is for you.”
Featuring a cast of twelve, a dog, and a band of 7, the album was recorded at The Recording Space and mixed by Peter Noble.
A tale of intrigue, insanity, and industrialisation. Hold on to your knitting. See you in the haberdashery!
