A stalwart of Adelaide theatre, we congratulate Barry, who was honoured with the Order of Australia Medal on Australia Day, thanking him for his lengthy, passionate ‘service to the Performing Arts’. The production of All About Eve produced by St Jude’s Players in Brighton, South Australia in April 2023, adapted and directed by Olivia Jane Parker, is not the play with the same name as the original story (The Wisdom of Eve), but instead, an adaptation of the Joseph L Mankiewicz film screenplay of that story, titled All About Eve and starring Bette Davis.
As opening night of the Empire Theatre’s major 2023 musical The Boy from Oz approaches, cast and crew are hard at work putting the finishing touches to the show.

Michael Parker’s farce Who’s in Bed with the Butler is one of a string of box office hits written in the British style of naughty but nice, developed for the American Market. An interesting note is that Michael met his wife Susan in the theatre; in fact, he cast her in the role of “Suzy Legere” in his world premiere of “Who’s In Bed With The Butler?” in California, in which he had the role of the butler.
