CLOC Musical Theatre’s President, Ric Birkett says, “At its heart, this story reminds us of the importance of compassion, courage and acceptance, values that sit at the core of CLOC’s culture. Community theatre thrives when people come together in the pursuit of excellence and this production is a shining example of that collaboration.”
Director Shaun Kingma says “Our cast has approached these characters with extraordinary care, uncovering the deeply human motivations that shape their journeys. The Hunchback of Notre Dame speaks to compassion in the face of prejudice, to the pain of marginalisation and to the dangers of corupt power. At its core, it’s a story about love that rises above fear and courage required to step into the light and imagine a better tomorrow. These themes remain powerful and relevant today.”
CLOC Musical Theatre is proud to partner with Tayla Ham, Disability Consultant, and Auslan Stage Left on this production, honouring the original story’s themes of acceptance, inclusion and compassion, and reinforcing our commitment to authentic and accessible storytelling.
